Gobshite Heard you on the wireless tonight English Riviera sounds nice I laugh at your Nazi propaganda What does it even mean; you're closing in? Get your own houses in order, before you start looking for trouble in mine Used to be blah blah blah Now it's like, like, yeah yeah yeah Whatever, transmit only, no one cares - Gobshite Let’s drink to oblivion; Stay angry about things we can’t change I hate wasting my time waiting for trains The announcements are all Gobshite A most unpleasant individual It's all about in your face Arcane concepts along with capitalism May they all rest in pieces in the same place Are you kidding?, Look around, Bastard government slime Punishing peaceful protesters, bombing their houses, ruining their lives The feeling is so strong; We are beyond afraid It wont be long until the world is in flames - again Another media feeding frenzy, This time they're trying to fix it for Jim Attack the cult of celebrity, The cover up Kings and Queens and equerries Accusations fly; Corruption and lies, subterfuge and spies Everyone denies being a Gobshite Siberian Husky club – Gobshite Allowed on the radio in Northern Ireland Part of the Molesta Club Committee Martin Weller © 2013

Imaginary Man Hey Ray, do you remember the day Our encounter in the Candlelight Bar? We were both there for fun 2001 Missing Waterloo in different ways Another place, different time Getting older may be It's just what we are, no extra cheese Thank you Imaginary Man I hope we're not gone any time soon We'll keep each other alive Why did the champagne taste like coke? Cos it rhymes; Classic line Hey Dave, we only met the once As we said goodbye to The Don You made a grand entrance in your shiny boots Talked about the 60s and some Tom May; Peter Yeates; Stars who light the Oregon trail Where rock n roll flows in the blood Til you reach those pearly gates Where we'll meet and do it again All all the Imaginary folk

Gorgeous George Not looking where your going, sometimes it’s better that way Peaceful progression, is a pretty damn fine aim Take care of the essentials, at the time of need As you walked out the door, the Heavens opened and mercy be A rain soaked encounter, incredible non the less Tho' you tried to avert your eyes You could see right through that Klingon dress It was lust it was love it was all of the above Deep desire that still knows no bounds Just there for a moment, gone before you turn around – Riff x1 That night - going off at a tangent Gorgeous George - drag queen dream Star turn with ‘the Special fists’ , long legs, blue eyes, stocking seams How you loved the performance ‘Berkley Hunt’ and ‘the Bushmen Tribe’ When to your amazement, you saw a love light in those eyes Who knew you could be so happy when it's not all about the sex Days turn on a sixpence, you've got to love the turn of events It was lust it was love it was all of the above Deep desire that still knows no bounds Just there for a moment, gone before you turn around Just there for a moment, gone before you turn around Who knew you could be so happy, when it's not all about the sex Days turn on a sixpence, you've got to love the turn of events It was lust...... x 3 Written by Martin Weller 2013

Until the hurt stops Maybe I could write the saddest song About a young friend who is lost Words would tell of a broken shell Lying in the dust The heart within torn and barely beating through the pain The tears and questions come too fast But the past wont be this way again You have a piece of love, in memory To cherish and embrace One day you'll smile, maybe for a while The wild grief that besets us all When we remember happy times Those dark uncharted miles in the desert of your mind Inst. And so it seems as you struggle through Had your fill of love and life No regret can turn back time Still you pray the night will last If I tried to write the saddest song To my young friend I would say Leave the final words to Simply – fade – away Inspired by Ernst Juenger - 'On the marble cliffs' 1939 + Jonathan Tropper - 'How to talk to a Widower'. Mel (Red, White & Blue) Mel came back from ‘nam with Hepatitis C, a conscientious objector Died at 57; seems pretty young to me The Maine man cleaned the planes of Agent Orange out at sea Now he’s got a rare disease unique to the activity Don’s number one hit record was a Polka can you believe? He’d got it going on, but changed the tune just to please No more rock n roll recession, the man is buoyant all the while Friends and businesses crumble, doing it in style A cheerleader but he can’t save the world Bloody Mary took her toll, slept it off and missed the show And if it hadn't been for you with your old red, white and blue I don't know where I'd be, can't imagine what we would do Didn’t get much rest, couldn’t switch my head off Getting to grips ain’t easy, maybe today I can relax John sounds like he’s got it straight, lost his job but still has his mates Cincinnati kid gunning ‘em down But there ain’t no bullets, no loaded gun Maybe we’ll head out to the coast on Friday just for fun You say you want us back, we’re talking a hell of a lot of cash A millionaire a minute, “It's just chump change, let's be rash” I was happy here, but couldn't wait to leave I know there’s some special people waiting there for me Thank you for the chance, I'll take it with both hands Cos obviously, that’s where I want to be You say you want us back, we’re talking lots of cash A millionaire a minute, “It's just chump change, let's be rash” And if it hadn't been for you with your old red, white and blue I don't know where I'd be, can't imagine what we would do Written by Martin Weller 23.2.13

Annoyed 03:19
Annoyed So much rage at your age, at yourself, at the world Everything in time, that's the standard line when the sky is ready to fall Pent up aggression under a filling moon The River is red, chemical change, behaviour is strange The sky is full, Ready to fall I took a scalpel to my life Cutting back 'til the bone shone through I am a bird now high above the heads of the living No more hurt Pent up frustration under a filling moon The River is red, chemical change, behaviour is strange They gave me a little pink pill I didn't feel so quite so ill It took a while 'fore I could manage a smile I am a bird now high above the heads of the living No more hurt, no more giving The sky is full, ready to fall Written by Martin Weller 2013

Wrong way 03:07
Wrong way You rub me up the wrong way It's fair to say, but that's ok Probably for the better Perhaps in time, we'll get along You'll stop dragging it down to your level If it works, don't meddle Loco; psycho babble You're getting it wrong I don't quite understand You still get under my skin But I'm too tired to fight and no, you cannot come in, you'll never win I won't stoop to your level You love, causing trouble, If there's a scab to pick, something to nick You're too clever by far Never should have been this smart We tried to knock it out of you, but seems there's more to do Chorus - You need to calm down Chorus - You've got it all wrong Written by Martin Weller 23.2.13

Drinkers Blues Doc said if I touch another drop my day will be done So I quit the juice, went on the loose Got the hell out of dodge Travelled here and there looking for a cure To a life time of drinking Tested and tried, sampled and fried in the name of absolution I couldn't find a thing to take the place So lead me to damnation, that's the way I choose Drinkers Blues – gimme the booze Written by Martin Weller 2013

Drug squad 02:28
Drug squad Friday night in Town Minding my own A herd of thugs in uniform with dog's noses in my space Disco light show sweaty face Took a girl away possessed Got their arrest Some stood fingering little weed Head shop guys stand accused Contaminating 'natural highs' with Plant food Checking out twenties for traces More days of boots and braces The storm is raging While we age Is any ground being gained? There's a bloke outside Chain smoking he can't hide Camel train look quite something Fancy dressed up hunting Friday night in Town Mind your own Written by Martin Weller 15.1.13

Rosie 01:52
Rosie Rosie won't you see me home I've had enough of socialising I just want quiet where I can get my eyes in focus again No need for copious amounts of alcohol Rosie please take control I love your strength and that we never fight You slowly take me over; seep into my mind I try not to indulge or get in over my head I just need your company as I wend my way to bed It's not complicated, I know my place I'm not drowning sorrows; that's not the case It's just that I like what you do for me And when I'm of a mind, you're welcome company Written by Martin Weller 2013

The Girls on the Bus The girls on the bus, Jesus H Christ You've never heard anything like it in your life The things they get up to, well, I never did - Yeah right White wire hanging out of one ear Furious texting, facebook, twitter Contemplating a KFC career Well the content changes but the principle's the same And the kids are alright, they're just part of the chain The boys on the bus, Jesus H Christ You've never seen anything like it in your life What they get up to, well I never did - Yeah right Shouting out names, punching his ears Furious texting, facebook, twitter Contemplating a KFC career Well the content changes but the principle's the same Well the kids are alright, they're just part of the chain Written by Martin Weller 7.10.13

about

Martin Weller album 'Gobshite' 2013

After many years of being in this business of music that we love I have created my first solo record 'Gobshite'. I dedicated the album, which I suppose is in the pop/rock category to the people in media, governments and world of entertainment who make our lives so 'interesting' - in the nicest possible way of course!

The disc features 13 self penned original tracks in a mess of styles and subject matter recorded in my room in Exmouth, Devon (UK) with the musical assistance of some fine musos on a few of the songs.

I do hope there is something to tickle your fancy dear listener.

My musical influences are not hidden and the likes of Ray Davies and Paul Weller continue to play a huge part in my sound and songwriting.
